Perkins CERTIFICATE in Practical ministry: youth Ministry
Our Certificate courses are at the heart of our model for practical theological education. These courses provide transformative theological training to youth ministry practitioners. They are also designed to provide graduate-level training to help persons qualify for paraprofessional Certification in the Youth Ministry through the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the UMC.
Students must complete five courses for a completed Certificate:
Teaching Bible
Engaging Theology
Methodist Studies OR Adaptive Leadership
Developmental Stages
Ministry with Youth
Certification students should have 3-5 years of youth ministry experience and have already participated in some form of formal, practical youth ministry training (such as PSYM Foundations) to be considered.
We invite you to explore all of our options for specialization in the Certificate in Practical Ministry.
Please contact Heather Gottas Moore for more information about the Perkins Certificate program.
